Magickal Symbols- Metatron's Cube
Share
Metatron’s cube was said to be derived from the soul of the Archangel Metatron- the angel of life and the sacred scribe to God.
Metatron's Cube as the Blueprint of Life & Creative Energy
Metatron’s cube is composed of 13 circles, with lines (a total of 78)
connecting the centres of each circle to every other circle, forming a series of interlocking shapes including the Platonic solids. These solids are believed to represent the building blocks of all physical matter in the universe. In fact, Metatron’s Cube is said to be the blueprint of life on earth.
Metatron's Cube embodies the idea that all life forms emerge from simple geometric shapes. The figure includes all five Platonic solids—tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron—which represent the classical elements of fire, earth, air, spirit, and water.
Because the construction of Metatron’s cube is the blueprint of life, the symbol is also synonymous with creative energy and our journey through life.
Metatron's Cube as a Symbol of Balance
The foundation of Metatron's Cube is composed of simple shapes- circles and lines, which combine to form the platonic solids. Because circles are often viewed as feminine symbols and lines as masculine symbols, the merging of the two are representative of balance. Metatron's cube, thus is a symbol of balance of feminine and masculine energies and can be employed in meditation to work on bringing the body's energy into balance.
Metatron's Cube as a Symbol of Knowledge
The Archangel Metatron was the scribe to God and as such there is no doubt as to why Metatron's cube has become synonymous with knowledge. Metatron is also associated with the Akashic records- the accounts of all the events in the universe that have happened (past), are happening (present) and will happen (future). It is, therefore, a fantastic symbol to employ when you are studying or trying to access knowledge that seems out of reach.
