Auroshiksa began making incense in 1973 as a way to provide employment to villagers to villagers around Auroville. The incense is an integral part of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram situated in Pondicherry, India and uses only the highest quality & purest ingredients. All of the ingredients sourced comply with the IFRA (International Fragrance Association, Geneva, Switzerland) and are guaranteed to be free from any toxic substances.

The Auroshikha incense is made from a paste which combines the powders of dried flower petals, sweet smelling herbs and woods, spices, resins, & charcoal, as well as perfumes which are based off natural essential oils. The ingredients for each incense stick are mixed with water and rolled by hand around bamboo sticks, left to dry and then perfumed.
