Manifesting Magick: Unleashing the Potential of the New Moon in Spellcasting
Share
A new moon is a lunar phase that occurs when the Moon is positioned between the
Earth and the Sun, with its illuminated side facing away from the Earth. This means that from our perspective on Earth, the side of the Moon facing us appears completely dark or invisible, as it is not receiving any direct sunlight.
During a new moon, the Moon and the Sun rise and set together, with the Sun's light completely obscuring the Moon's surface. This phase marks the beginning of the lunar cycle and is the opposite of a full moon, when the Earth is positioned between the Sun and the Moon, and the side facing us is fully illuminated.
The new moon is the ideal time to perform magick for those things that you wish to bring into your life. It is a time of new beginnings, renewals & growth. It has energy that is increasing, making it an ideal time to perform magick aimed at growth and progress- want a new job? growth in business? new love? The new moon is the ideal time to cast spells for all of these as it adds an extra layer of lunar magick on top of the magical associations you may already be using, such as botanicals and candle magick.
The new moon is also the ideal time to set intentions for the coming month. If you
have a new project that you wish to start, now is the ideal time to do so.
This is not saying that your spells will not work if they are not aligned with the lunar cycle, just that they may work better when aligned with the magical energy of the moon.
If you would like to increase the power of your spells, why not try performing them during the different moon phases associated with each intention and see if it aids in increasing your magickal success?
