Tarot And Astrology- Which Card Represents Your Astrological Sign?

Rebecca Haynes

There is no denying that Astrology and the Tarot go hand in hand. Walk into any new-age shop (at least in Australia) and you will often see the Astrology books next to the Tarot & divination section- and there is a good reason for this.

Both Astrology and Tarot have been used historically to predict an individual's future and help one in solving current dilemmas, so it is not uncommon to turn to either of these modalities when you are searching for answers.

With this in mind, you won't be surprised when I tell you that the Tarot cards actually have corresponding astrological signs, and that they can be used together in a tarot reading to develop a more complete understanding of a situation.

Tarot Cards & Their Corresponding Astrological Signs

Each of the 22 Major Arcana cards in the Tarot represent either a planet, astrological sign or element and these associations can add an extra layer of depth to your readings, especially if you are interested in Astrology.

The Astrological signs, along with their corresponding Major Arcana Tarot cards and card numbers are as follows:

Aries represents The Emperor (4)

person's hand holding The Hermit Tarot card

Taurus represents The Hierophant (5)

Gemini represents The Lovers (6)

Cancer represents The Chariot (7)

Leo represents Strength (8)

Virgo represents The Hermit (9)

Libra represents Justice (11)

Scorpio represents Death (13)

Sagittarius represents Temperance (14)

Capricorn represents The Devil (15)

Aquarius represents The Star (17)

How Do I Incorporate Astrological Signs Into My Tarot Readings?

When reading Tarot using the Astrological signs, you need to take into consideration the placement of the card as well as the traditional Tarot card meanings and the meaning of the Astrological signs associated with it. For example, if your question relates to your current situation and you draw The Emperor card which corresponds with the Astrological sign of Aries, this might suggest themes of leadership, initiative, and assertiveness, reflecting Aries traits. Doing this allows you to draw more information from each reading and gain a deeper insight.

It is important to note that the Astrological signs and their associated Tarot cards have varied over time. The Tarot cards and their related Astrological signs that we have shared here are the most widely used today.
