Three Kings’ Benjoin Sumatra siftings is a grey and yellow-reddish natural resin with a very sweet scent, giving off an aroma strongly reminiscent of vanilla.

The natural resin is obtained from different gum trees that belong to the genus Styrax, in particular the Styrax Benzoin. This tree originates from Sumatra, Indonesia’s fifth largest island. Benjoin Sumatra siftings is a natural resin meant for use in rituals.

Burning natural resin is a rich sensory experience and it should preferably be burned on charcoal tabs specifically designed for natural resins burning.  These charcoal tabs are available here. This natural resin should not be used as a food additive or for pharmaceutical purposes.

How to Use

  • Set a charcoal tablet in a heatproof container such as a cauldron on a bed of sand or dirt (to help absorb the heat) and light the tablet. You can also pick the charcoal tablets up with charcoal tongs and set it alight prior to placing it in your container if that is preferred.
  • Slowly fan or blow on the tablet.
  • Only after the charcoal is aglow and stops crackling, put the resin incense on the top.
  • Using a spoon or tweezers, drop the resin incense onto the tablet.
  • Set aside enough time so that you can enjoy the ritual of incense burning.
